Bill Clinton Eyes the Upper West Side

Thursday, May 27, 2004, by Lockhart

2004_05_clinton.jpgThe Post's Braden Keil breaks this huge news: Bill Clinton is apartment shopping in Manhattan. "He's been looking for a place primarily on the Upper West Side with a couple of bedrooms for about $2 million," one agent tells Keil. Clinton's broker, Kathy Sloane of Brown Harris Stevens, is showing Bill condos at the Milennium Tower and 3 Lincoln Center. (Condos: no board approval required.) Brief building backgrounders:

1) Milennium Tower (101 W. 67th St.): Developed 1994, architects Schuman, Lichtenstein, Claman & Efron. 303 apartments, 46 stories. The City Review says it's "admirably proportioned in distinct contrast with most of the other apartment towers in the area." (Also notes brick facade was "poor selection.") Other famous residents: Howard Stern, Regis Philbin.
2) 3 Lincoln Center (160 West 66th St.): Developed 1990, 60 stories, 347 units. Says New York Living, "the only luxury condominium in New York that allows residents to run upstairs to check for messages during intermission at the Philharmonic."

Says Corcoran CEO Pamela Liebman, "The West Side would work well for him. It's more relaxed than the East Side and it has more of the Hollywood element." What the hell, we're happy for the guy.
