Charles Street: Now Less Swanky

The townhouse at 33 Charles Street, owned by the former Mr. and Mrs. Chad Lowe (aka Hillary Swank and her husband) is for sale. With four floors, six fireplaces, two full baths, two half baths and some amazing decorating, it can be yours for a cool $8.25 million. Presumably, the Oscar is not included, but everything is negotiable these days, so who knows.

Even if you're looking for something a little bigger, it's still worth checking out the seriously kick-ass website, which we hereby anoint as the gold standard by which all future websites will be judged.

What does the front of the house look like. C'mon, for $8M I want some serious curb-appeal.

i'm disappointed. not nearly enough pictures (especially no bedroom pics). the rooms look small. and only 3 bedrooms!

Those room sizes are not that unusual for a Manhattan TH, but they are unusual if you are paying more than 2,000/sq.ft.

Somebody tell me where the heck the second half-bath is!

I see a full bath on each of the top 2 floors, and a half-bath on the garden level. Description they provide says 2 full and 2 half bathrooms.

8+ million for this??? Good luck!

Maybe the price is based on the "full lock-down" feature? Does the house need that feature (just how bad is the nabe?), or is this being marketed to the paranoid?

I wonder if full lock-down means full lock-OUT if you screw up?

Don't you think that since it was a celebrity couple living there, the full lock down feature was in case some crazy stalker tried breaking in or something? I mean, it DOES kind of make sense...Its not like some random person was living there before...
