Last night, at a dinner in honor of Pritzker Prize winner Eduardo Souto de Moura in Washington, President Obama admitted that he once harbored dreams of becoming an architect. The prez says he turned to politics when he wasn't as creative as he'd expected to be. Does this mean "Leader of the Free World" was Obama's second choice job? Well, no probably not. But that didn't keep him from praising de Moura's "simple shapes and clean lines [that] always fit seamlessly into the surroundings." Obama also took a moment to recognize the architect's work on the mountainside Braga Stadium (above), which the President commended for making the games accessible even to those who couldn't afford a ticket, just like his beloved Wrigley Field.
