New, 6 comments

One snazzy new McDonald's in France looks like a three-dimensional Mondrian painting. A Burger King in Singapore parades as upscale thanks to chic wooden chairs and pendant lamps. Starbucks has recently toyed with shipping containers and glass-and-timber interior architecture. Now Walgreens is following suit. Two new branches of the national drugstore chain are a far cry from their dingy strip-mall cousins, thanks to South Florida architects Frank Demandt and Robert Brown. Curbed Miami calls the endeavor "wacky, surreal, a bit odd, certainly awkward, and probably quite Miamian" as well as a "'Morris Lapidus meets Alice in Wonderland' moment." Head over for more photos.
