After three months and three days, L.A.'s Hailey Residence, designed by architecture pooh-bah and once Simpsons riff Richard Neutra has officially sold, and for $55K above ask, no less. The house, with interiors that made it seem flash-frozen in its 1959 completion date, asked $895K, and sold in mid-February for $950K. Though just 1,129 square feet, the home boasts a myriad of period-perfect details, like an accordion-folding wall and pop-out fireplace, as well as low-slung built-ins and huge planks of window.
It's been a turbulent few months for Neutra's work; it was recently announced that his famed Gettysburg cyclorama building is fated for the wrecking ball, while the home he designed for Vidal Sassoon recently sold for $16.5M to French billionaire fashion guy François Pinault.
