Rare Dubois-Designed Swiss Miss Hits the Market for $1.35M

New, 1 comment

Not only is this Charles Dubois-designed Palm Springs home one of just a handful of Swiss Miss-style abodes he built in the area—architectural novelties notable for their large triangular A-frames, like a Swiss ski chalet crossed with a Polynesian Tiki hut—it also isn't afraid to flaunt its Midcentury bona fides on the inside, which is chock-full of mod furniture. Tantalizingly touted as appearing in "films" (it's unclear which) and "magazines" (ditto), we can only imagine where the camera lens might have lingered for each; the massive stone fireplace that runs up through the center of the living room's defining central gable, the inevitable Eames lounge chair situated underneath. Built in 1958 and since "beautifully remodeled," with the master suite expanded to support an adjacent sitting area, this three-bedroom, 2,600-square-foot home wants $1.35M, and interested parties should be know that the last time we caught a Dubois going on the market was about two years ago, it wasn't even one of his greatest hits.
