Inside Jemima Kirke's Oh-So-Jemima Kirke Brooklyn Apartment

New, 8 comments

Free spirited, boho wild child Jemima Kirke—who happens to play free spirited, boho wild child Jessa on Girls—recently let a photographer from New York Magazine trail around her Brooklyn home with her, much like fellow HBO alum and Brooklynite Sarah Jessica Parker just did for Vogue. Besides learning the 28-year-old's thoughts on mommy groups (no!), stick 'n' poke tattoos (yes!), and Shabbat dinner (sometimes!), the series also allows a generous peek at the artistically messy, antiques-clad townhouse she bought for $2M with her husband, two small children, and dog. As evidenced in the shots, the basement level of the home serves as Jemima's studio, while the main floor is devoted to a large, rather cozy kitchen and living room space—with warm parquet wood flooring, vintage cabinetry, and a massive dining room table reserved for late night, cigarette-hazy dinner parties.

Other quirky decor details include a gypsy-esque children's room painted a bold magenta—"it's definitely got confidence, that pink," says Kirke—and her own haphazardly appointed bed chambers, done up in vintage wallpaper and a few pops of the same bright pink. The full story is featured in the March issue of New York Magazine, but you can also take a look over at Vulture.
