Here's the $20M SoCal Mansion Kim and Kanye Just Bought

New, 68 comments

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are reportedly poised to drop $20M on a sprawling SoCal mansion. Yesterday, TMZ cited "real estate sources" in its report that the rapper-slash-design-aficionado and his reality TV star wife are in escrow on the 15,600-square-foot estate, which the listing—taken down on August 18th with a final asking price of $21.25M—describes as a "French Country piece de resistance" by way of Hidden Hills, California. As summarized in the L.A. TImes, E! Online followed up with its own confirmation of the news that the pair are in contract for the house. Kardashian later told People that she and Ye will soon be moving out of Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner's home in Calabasas, where they've been staying for the last year while preparing their $9M Beverly Hills pad for an expensive flip, saying that "it might be a few months, but I'm not sure. We just found a new, amazing place."

A source tells E! that the power couple "wanted more land than the Bel-Air home, so they are flipping that and will have the two homes now. But they will sell that and move into Hidden Hills." Meanwhile, Us Weekly hears from its own source that KimYe has "no plans to tear it down or anything like that." Which is probably due to the fact that the current owner, who the Real Estalker identified in 2011 as a "Los Angeles-based physician," already did it for them. The good doctor bought the property from rock-n-roll heiress Lisa Marie Presley in 2010 for $5M, razing the 8,000-square-foot mansion there and building the current home in its place.

The listing finds in the eight-bedroom a "tranquil appeal reminiscent of Napa Valley or the South of France." Out front, "substantial wood gates open to circular motor court," and inside, the home boasts a "Light filled foyer w/wrought iron staircase," a "spectacular gourmet kitchen w/3 islands," and lots of stone and vaulted truss ceilings throughout. Designed "for leisure & entertaining," it's also got a home theater, a wet bar-equipped game room, a "custom paneled library" with herringbone wood floors, "wide art gallery walkways," and "groin vaulted ceilings," which are a real thing. The "lushly landscaped grounds" has two spools, two spas, two "BBQ centers," a "secluded guest house," a pair of vineyards, and a 1,000-square-foot "entertaining pavilion." Take the tour below:
