Of the hundreds of fascinating, normally off-limits sites that were open to the public during Open House New York weekend, the TWA Flight Center at JFK Airport was undoubtedly the most popular—and most photographed. Eero Saarinen's gorgeous, swooping building was open to the public for only four hours on Sunday, and its OHNY appearance is likely to be the last time it will be open before its conversion to a hotel, which is scheduled to begin next year. And the public took advantage: There were people in vintage duds (including period-appropriate TWA uniforms), architecture buffs capturing unseen angles, and New York City nerds who wanted to see one of the city's most iconic buildings before it undergoes a massive change.
