Bring the Lunar Eclipse Home With This Groovy LED Lamp

New, 1 comment

At once a lamp and a stunning reminder of natural, perhaps cosmic, phenomena, the Eclipse of the Rainbow lamp by greek designer Eugenia Antoniou illuminates the space around it in a dim, overlapping, circular pattern of rainbow colors. As its name might suggest, the design was inspired by eclipses, not only in terms of aesthetics, but also by the way the phenomenon actually occurs.

To start, seven LED bulbs make up the lamp's light source. Next, just as how a celestial body comes in between the moon and the sun or the earth and the sun during eclipses, Antoniou inserted a disc between the light source and its projection. Arranged at different angles, the LED bulbs end up producing a marvelous rainbow pattern.
