295-Year-Old Centerville Beauty Returns for $2,375,000

New, 3 comments

When we first wrote about this Centerville listing in October 2014, the wicked old spread was 274 years old and on the market for $1,795,000 million. Last December, the Main Street property changed hands for $1,550,000. Now, the circa 1720 beauty is back on the market with new updates (hello, cement pond!) and hoping for $825K more. To refresh, the classic Cape sits on two acres and has 3BR, 3.5BA in 3,114 square feet with wide pine plank floors, four fireplaces, custom millwork, cabinetry and windows. Although the place still has what a Curbed commenter called a "blinding white glare," perhaps the updated kitchen will get a thumbs up now that the chimney has been covered. The first floor also includes a family room, sun room, a dining room "perfect for two or twenty guests," and a master with an en-suite bath with "marble tiling, polished nickel fixtures and radiant heated floors and walls." Outside, a "roof terrace allows for peeks to Nantucket Sound" and a brand new heated pool is surrounded by a bluestone patio and 300-year-old Beech tree. While there's no mention of the neighboring cottage in the latest offering, the 275 year old is being offered fully furnished this go-round. Asking price is $2,375,000.
