The Midcentury Diners of Los Angeles Look as Dashing as Ever

New, 7 comments

For its first ever "Classics Week," Curbed's sister site Eater LA celebrated the iconic Los Angeles culinary institutions that have stood the test of time. This endeavor wouldn't have been complete without revisiting some of the most beautiful googie joints in the area. Taking after the style of famous SoCal architect John Lautner, whose Space Age-inspired residential homes are amply adored, these midcentury coffeeshops and restaurants spotlighted by Eater LA feature similarly dramatic sloping roofs, as well as bold use of glass, steel, and stone.
