Pyramid-Like Viewing Platform Frames Fantastic Views of Scotland's Natural Beauty

Say it with us: ahhhh. This contemplative, wood-clad architectural folly sits beside the whimsically named Loch Lomond in Scotland, and the wedge-shaped viewing platform serves a quite simple purpose—framing the view. Designed by British-Norwegian firm BTE Architecture, the Pyramid Viewpoint, as it's known, is one in several pavilions designed as part of the UK-government-run Scottish Scenic Routes program, which, according to Dezeen, highlights work by young Scottish architects and designers.

Made of larch wood and set on an outcropping overlooking the loch in Trossachs National Park, visitors climb the viewing platform via staircases on either side of the structure that, like its name implies, lead upwards, pyramid-like, to the viewing area.
