Now comes this house in Melbourne by local firm Austin Maynard Architects (fka Andrew Maynard Architects) with a perforated metal facade that, when backlit at night, looks almost like a fabric scrim stretched across the dwelling's frame. This novel cladding allows natural light into the long, narrow, two-story house and for passive solar gain to minimize energy consumption.
