These Bricks Are Made of Cigarette Butts And You'd Never Know It

New, 2 comments

Imagine a world in which bricks are made of cigarette butts. It's pretty easy

According to the leader of a research team at RMIT University in Australia about 6 trillion cigarettes are produced every year, which results in 1.2 million tons of cigarette butt waste. That's a problem because cigarette butts are not biodegradable and also very gross. Humanity has another problem, though, and that problem is: We need bricks. So, the RMIT University research team decided to kill two birds with one stone and design a method of making bricks using cigarette butts, which both gets rid of the butts and is cheaper than making them the regular way.

Imagine a world in which bricks are made of cigarette butts. It's very easy because they are practically indistinguishable from regular bricks.
