Midcentury modern-inspired home is an indoor-outdoor dream in Denver

Brick City House is a new residence in Denver, Colorado, that takes a page from the book of midcentury modern design. Designed by local practice Studio B, the simple construction is characterized by a flat-roofed rectangular volume arranged around an interior courtyard with a pool.

The 4,600-square-foot home was intended to blend in with the neighborhood, where the older homes are bungalow-style and have large entry porches. Brick City creates a twist on that architecture by incorporating both brick and a porch into a new silhouette.

Still, it blends in thanks to its clean lines and openness to the surrounding area. The street-facing side features a recessed, wood-paneled entrance that becomes a covered porch, with a section of glass showing a glimpse of the interiors.

Inside, the same materials make up the sleek interiors, where sliding glass doors let natural light pour in and also create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The flowing layout includes an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area along on edge and corner of the house, while a master suite with guest bedroom are found on the other side. In the basement are an additional bedroom, media room, office, and wine cellar, and a garage is attached to the main house. Take a look.
