Among the homes of Rockland County, just north of Manhattan, is a farmhouse that has been featured in over 1,800 films, TV shows, and commercials.
Douglas House has its reputation not only for being a sprawling, picturesque set but, by design, is built to facilitate easy and efficient production. And at the age of 91, Marjorie Douglas, the home’s owner, has hosted film and television crews about once a week for 36 years.
Dedicated to bringing in the best teams and making things easy for them, Marjorie and her late husband renovated their home to accommodate film crews. Interchangeable kitchen cabinets and a fully removable wall for the bathroom are just a few of the enhancements that make filming in the Douglas House a breeze. These features are among the reasons why so many productions— Law and Order, SNL, and Inside Amy Schumer, to name a few— choose the Douglas House to set their scenes.
