An impeccably restored midcentury modern home by Mark Hampton, who was a founding member of the Sarasota School of Architecture, is available to rent in Lakeland, Florida. (Peep these other homes in Sarasota.)

Originally built in 1956, the low-slung bungalow features a steel-beam construction with open-plan spaces characterized by walls of glass. Interior and exterior elements have been preserved or otherwise restored, and original details abound, including walnut walls and cabinetry, terrazzo floors, textured wall coverings, and a stained-glass divider in the living room.

Two ensuite bedrooms accommodate four overnight guests, while the common areas, large kitchen, an outdoor patio, and pool offer even more opportunities for entertaining. Impeccably decorated by author and modernist specialist Andrew Weaving with a collection of vintage furniture, decor, and art, the midcentury gem starts at $750 for three nights through Boutique Homes.

If you’ve ever considered purchasing a midcentury home, why not give it a stylish test run for a few nights before taking the plunge?
