Martin Amis’s former London house asks $9.76M

A handsome semi-detached home once belonging to the British novelist Martin Amis has come on the market in the London neighborhood of Primrose Hill. According to the Evening Standard, Amis bought the home in 1995 and lived there until 2010, when he “quit” London for Brooklyn.

If he had toughed it out, he could have seen a more than ten-time return on his purchase price of £715,000—because it’s now on the market for £7.5 million, or approximately $9.76 million.

Overlooking Regent’s Park, the over-4,000-square-foot property features five bedrooms on five high-ceilinged floors, a rear garden, mezzanine library, and two terraces. Although recently renovated by its current owners, the residence retains many period details like tall windows, original hardwood floors, fireplaces, and molding that complement the modern updates, creating a bright and clean space.
