Camping season is upon us, but if the idea of sleeping on the ground makes you pause, perhaps you should invest in a lightweight camper trailer. Options abound in the trailer industry, from teardrops with huge windows for stargazing to this modular unit that can sleep a family of four.

Little Guy Trailers—headquartered in San Diego, California—also builds the Meerkat, a tiny trailer model that just came on our radar. At only 900 pounds, this lightweight unit can be towed by almost any 4-cylinder car and it can even fit in a standard garage.

The interior features a dinette and seating area that transforms into a roller system bed that sleeps two comfortably. There’s storage underneath each of the cushions, and the kitchen boasts wood cabinetry, an icebox, sink, and a 120-volt electrical system. The top of the Meerkat pops open for more head room, and there’s even a hanging closet for your clothes.

Three of the windows open for ventilation and you can also add an exterior shade awning to help with the summer heat. The Meerkat comes in a variety of colors—even custom colors are available for an extra $1,450—and the list price starts at $17,820. Head over here for more.
