Remember the Escape Traveler, the fab tiny home with major amenities like a full-size oven and bathtub? Well, despite already offering one of the more indulgent tiny homes available, the maker of the Escape Traveler has launched an even more spacious version. The Escape Traveler XL, clocking in at a still technically tiny 344 square feet, can sleep up to eight people (versus six in the original) and features a Queen-size bed on the ground level (instead of a lofted solution that has become more or less an unofficial standard for micro homes.)
Since this more generous "bedroom" is what takes up the extra square footage in the XL, the "living room" is now squeezed between the bedroom and kitchen (and brings the very divisive TV-over-fireplace scheme into tiny livin'!) In addition to the bed, the 35-foot long, 13,000-pound unit also offers two optional sleeping lofts, as well as the same full-size appliances, along with optional washer/dryer and dishwasher options.
Turnaround time for producing one XL is 30 to 60 days and pricing starts at $78,500 (the base price for the regular is $66,600.) Full details—including info on Escape Homes' new "Off-Grid Package," a set of solar energy, rainwater collection, and composting options—can be found on the company's website.
