Wedding season is here, which you most likely already know from scrolling through your Facebook and Instagram feeds. You probably have a wedding—or five!—to attend this summer, and with that comes the responsibility of gifting the happy couple.

I chatted with three recently married friends and colleagues to pick their brains about the best wedding gifts they received. The consensus? Their favorite gifts turned out to be the practical ones they use regularly at home.

Here’s what they had to say.

I have wanted a KitchenAid mixer since I discovered my love of baking. Stand mixers are what serious bakers use, and KitchenAid makes the most iconic one of them all. My mixer (which is teal) looks gorgeous, and it's super powerful. I use it weekly. — Adam Moussa, Senior Social Media Manager, Eater

The SodaStream was by far the most exciting wedding gift I received. While items like toasters and serving platters fill up the registry, it was nice that it broke up the monotony of typical home necessities. Not to mention, who doesn't love making their own soda, especially with no-calorie options? — Melissa Reamer, Assistant Director of Finance, Stanford University

I used Amazon’s Wedding Registry and was happy with all my gifts because I was able to select pretty much anything I could possibly want. I use this Swissmar party platter ALL the time and it’s super fun for groups! — Kristine Hsu, Counsel, Vox Media
