Details have emerged about Ikea’s collaboration with Danish brand Hay, which the Swedish furniture giant teased with an abstract video last year.
Called Ypperlig, the 30-piece collection features simple yet thoughtfully designed objects for the home including furniture, storage, and small goods.
Characterized by clean lines, the items exhibit a distinctly Scandinavian and minimalist aesthetic, which is inherent to both companies’ identity, making the collaboration something of a match made in design heaven.
Products include a wooden bench, an open bookshelf made of a simple wooden frame and gray slats, circular end table, candlestick holder, wall storage unit, curved mirror with brushed metal frame, tables of varying sizes, ceramic jugs, desk accessories, and a sofa made form molded foam.
Ypperlig also marks the debut of Hay’s take on the iconic Frakta bag, which has been reimagined in a white and green woven fabric with matching green straps. The collection launches this fall. Take a look.
