Coolala is the world’s first portable, solar-powered A/C unit

If you’ve ever wished to upgrade a personal hand-held fan into something with more serious cooling power, then you’re going to want to check out this new portable air conditioning unit.

Called Coolala, not only is it truly portable, it’s also powered by solar energy, making it the world’s first portable, solar-powered, indoor-outdoor A/C unit.

And it’s actually portable. Measuring 16 inches by 3.5 inches by 12 inches, or about the size of a small electric guitar lamp, it weighs just seven pounds and comes with wheels and a handle. A built-in LED lamp allows for nighttime use as well, while a power station means that you can charge other small devices like mobile phones and bluetooth speakers.

More importantly, thanks to a unique micro compressor and condenser, Coolala, which is currently raising funds on Kickstarter, boasts 3,500 BTU of cooling power, easily cools areas up to 150 square feet, and can hold a single charge for between six to eight hours.

For indoor use, simply plug into an outlet, and for all-day outdoor use, connect to the optional 100-watt solar panel, or take advantage of the 40,000mAh or 60,000mAh power station with 12V to 24V of charging power. Early bird pricing starts at $399, with the first shipments to go out in June 2018.
