Memphis-obsessed French artist Camille Walala—known for creating crazy-colored buildings inspired by the kinetic ’80s design movement—has brought her playful style across the pond. Walala transformed the Greek Revival facade of a 1920s bank building into a riot of pattern and color. The building, in Cleveland, Ohio, is now an art gallery and yoga studio named Pop Life.

"I've always been into street art; to me, it's so inspiring," said Pop Life founder Jack Mueller. "That's what art is all about - it's for everyone. It's not supposed to be confined. So when I saw this building was for sale, it called me home."

Mueller’s Pop Life gallery will provide wall space for artworks as vibrant as Walala’s mural, including works by Keith harin, Victor Vasarely, and Alex Grey. The 5,500-square-foot interior is currently under renovation, but will retain a number of original details like bank safes. Mueller plans to finish the renovation by the end of the year, adding a new juice bar to the mixed-use space.
