World’s first ski-in/ski-out treehouses now for rent in Montana

Whether you choose to hit the slopes or tour a National Park in all its snow-covered glory, winter is an ideal time to travel. Sure, cold temperatures might deter those who would rather be at the beach, but a hygge-filled vacation of snowflakes, fires, and cozy blankets could be just the thing to combat your winter blues.

If you’re looking for unique accommodations this winter, check out these new treehouses located slopeside at Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana. Called the Snow Bear Chalets—and billed as the world’s first ski-in/ski-out treehouses—the recently built chalets stand 30 feet above the forest with gorgeous views of the mountains of Glacier National Park. The best part? These treehouses are the definition of ski-in/ski-out, located directly on the ski run and only a few minutes from the ski area’s Chair 3 ski lift.

Three different chalets are available as vacation rentals and all come with a private treetop deck, hot tub, and top-notch luxuries like quartz countertops. Two of the chalets sleep six people with two bedrooms and two baths in about 825 square feet. In the smaller units, the master bedroom features a memory-foam king bed and is divided from the living room by floor-to-ceiling barn doors. Upstairs, a loft features a king, two twin beds, and a full bathroom.

The larger chalet (called Cedar) sleeps ten people with four bathrooms—all with radiant heat floors—and three bedrooms. The setup for the master and loft is similar to that of other chalets, but Cedar also boasts a bunk room with four “coach style” bunks on the lower level.

Ski amenities like a mud room, fireplace, and mountain views come standard in all the chalets, but perhaps the most stand-out feature is the turret. Peer up at the ceiling and you’ll find 600 fiber-optic stars in the form of various constellations. Pining for the real thing? Montana’s famous skies are just out your doorstep.
