You can rent these modern geodesic domes nestled in a forest

A dream nature getaway

If glamping in a geodesic dome in a faux-martian landscape isn’t quite your style, how about glamping in a geodesic dome in the Canadian forest?

Bourgeois/Lechasseur Architects designed a luxury eco-lodge outside of Quebec that consists of three very stylish domes perching on a mountain. Situated in the forest overlooking the St. Lawrence River, the domes look like any other dome from the outside (which is to say, like amazing alien pods).

Inside, though, the geometric shape has been wrapped in gray canvas and outfitted with modern furniture that make the spaces feel more luxury sleepaway camp than radical architectural experiment.

Each of the domes sits on a wooden terrace equipped with a hot tub and a shed full of wood pre-chopped (obviously) for the indoor fireplace. The dwellings are big enough for two beds—one on the concrete floor, another in a loft—and have an impressively large kitchen.

The domes, part of a new sustainable resort, are now available to rent through Domes Charlevoix, and they’re habitable year round—so long as you can handle the Canadian winter.
