New Frontier Tiny Homes, which creates some of the most swoonworthy tiny homes around, designed its new Orchid tiny house with an intense attention to detail. Narrow cedar planks line the exterior and gabled roof to create an almost unibody appearance.

The planks were also spaced and raised off the walls and roof to “give each piece the appearance of floating,” the designers say of the (leak-proof) siding treatment.

Inside, the house has the cozy-chic feel of a contemporary farmhouse. The living room leads to an elevated kitchen that has enough space for a sit-in dining area. The house is big enough to sleep four—one often bedroom is upstairs, while the love seat in the living room slides out to reveal a trundle bed underneath.

In an unexpected but very cool move, the designers embedded a strip of LEDs behind the trim through the house, creating a glowing effect that’s meant to mimic the 2017 solar eclipse.
