Location: Greenwich, Connecticut

Price: $22,500,000

This whopper of an estate in Greenwich, Connecticut, has been on and off the market for a couple of years. For 15 years, it was the home of actor and director Mel Gibson, who dubbed it Wayne Manor and eventually sold it for about $24 million in 2010.

Built in 1926 by investment banker Charles L. Ohrstrom and architect Charles Lewis Bowman, the rambling 75-acre property has now returned to its original name of Old Mill Farm with a refresh and has plenty to offer. (Unfortunately, the listing photos appear to be a few years old.)

The main Elizabethan Tudor-style house measures 15,862 square feet and boasts eight bedrooms and many more bathrooms, with a great room with 40-foot vaulted ceilings acting as its centerpiece. Seventeenth-century oak paneled walls and floors, stained glass, ornate molding, huge formal living rooms, fireplaces, and more fill the home. Amenities like a rathskeller (a basement tavern), movie theater, and double chef kitchens make it an exceptional place for entertaining.

There’s even more on the grounds, which is considered the largest landholding in Greenwich, like a boxwood maze, orchards, a tennis court, swimming pool, lawn chess on one of the expansive lawns, horse stable with paddocks, trails, and a spring-fed lake with dock, just to name a few. Outbuildings include a Cotswold-style stone cottage with two four-bedroom apartments, log cabin with original fireplace, and a greenhouse.

Located at 124 Old Mill Road the home is offered at $22.5 million. Will it finally find a buyer?
