Target new line Opalhouse Target

Another day, another new home goods line from Target. The wallet-friendly retailer launched two in-house brands last year—one midcentury-inspired, another by Chip and Joanna Gaines—and has just unveiled a third.

Opalhouse features a whopping 1,300 color-rich items with an eclectic, international vibe. The collection ranges widely from bedding to bath, decor, and furniture, with most items priced under $30.

The Target design team apparently scoured the globe for inspiration: “wandering the streets of Paris, visiting local markets in Mallorca, or spending time with locals in Lisbon,” according to a post on the corporate blog. All this inspiration seems to take shape in bright colors and details like pressed glass, pattern, as well as materials like silk and velvet.

Target’s clearly done the research into what the people want. The collection looks like an irresistible cross between Anthropologie and West Elm with some “Jungalow” thrown in.

“About 90 percent of our guests like to mix and match styles to create a personalized look within their homes,” wrote Target. “So in 2017 we set out to introduce a number of new brands with clear and distinct points of view that have the flexibility to work together.”

Opalhouse will launch in stores and online on April 8.
