As adorable as they come, this Victorian cottage in Nashville’s Belmont neighborhood was built in 1904 and has since been maintained and updated over the years. It was also the city’s first licensed bed and breakfast, known as Hillsboro House, with its zoning still intact.

The historic house enchants on sight, starting with its fairytale-like yellow cedar-sided exterior trimmed in aquamarine and a front porch with swing and lovely carved details. A host of original architectural elements abound inside as well: high ceilings, molding, hardwood floors, and diamond pane windows.

A large entry hall gives way to a parlor through transomed double French doors with original fireplace, and also to a formal dining room. A large kitchen follows as does a “keeper’s suite” with sliding glass doors opening onto the yard. There are three bedrooms and four bathrooms, all of which could use a refresh.

Out back, a wide porch offers year-round al fresco dining and relaxation opportunities and views of a lawn, while around the side of the house a patio, grill, outdoor fireplace, fountain, and garden set a pretty scene. Located at 1933 20th Avenue and sold as-is, it’s offered at just under $800,000.
