Here’s another fantastic midcentury home from the Sarasota School of Architecture, a regional modernist style that emerged after the war in and around Sarasota, Florida, and which counts Paul Rudolph and William Rupp among its notable architects. What sets this one apart is its completely circular design.

Known as the Round House, or the Hilton Leech Studio, the striking residence was designed by Jack West and Elizabeth Boylston Waters in 1960 for artists Hilton and Dorothy Leech as their personal home and as a teaching studio. It has since been carefully updated by local architect Tatiana White.

White brick clads both exterior and interior walls, while terrazzo lines the floors in the common areas.
