No, you didn’t just step into a Star Trek episode.
This lounge in Belgium is clad in pink marble with exquisite detailing, making it look like it’s pulled straight from the future—so much that you may not even need a drink at the bar to feel a bit intoxicated by it all.
The XYZ Lounge, built as part of a housing complex in Ghent, Belgium, was designed by the Paris studio Didier Faustino and features bold olive green accents to offset the muted pink that lines the space. The goal was to create “a contemporary space that is both deeply rooted in time and kind of out of time as well,” the studio’s founder told Dezeen.
The central room of the lounge features a soaring ceiling, while a pair of rooms off to the side open up the space for cocktail parties and conferences, with access to a terrace as well.
The communal bar space, in particular, is marked by sleek details like rounded edges that contrast the more geometric corners that adorn the walls.
