There’s no shortage of old-school charm in this three-bedroom, four-bath 19th-century house in Savannah, Georgia. Originally built for a Civil War major in 1881, the home looks southern on the outside and British on the inside thanks to a renovation inspired by the elegance of a London townhouse.

The house sits in the center of Savannah’s historic district, surrounded by lush trees and greenery. The approach to the home features a movie-worthy veranda that stretches across the width of the house, providing plenty of shade and space for enjoying a late afternoon drink.

Inside the 4,053-square-foot home, ornate crown molding rims the ceiling and original mahogany and pine line the floors. The house features nine fireplaces (including a few in the bathrooms) and tall windows, which give the space a distinctly European flair.

Next to the office, an enclosed sunroom leads to a back patio filled with plants and plenty of nooks to relax in. There’s also a two-story carriage house, where guests can stay. Charmed by the property? You can snag it for $1.6 million.
