Located in the historic Oakleigh Garden district of Mobile, Alabama, this three-bedroom, two-bath home was carefully restored by local TV personality Danny Lipford of Today’s Homeowner. The historic home is known as the Morgan-Home house; built in 1906, purchased in 1915 by James Morgan, and owned by the Ford family from the 1940s through 2014.

A wide and charming front porch welcomes guests, complete with restored stained glass, a new swing, and copper lanterns. Inside, a high-ceilinged dog trot foyer is the artery of the 2,280-square-foot home, and the restoration applied fresh paint and new lighting with a new coat of varnish on the hardwood floor.

The living room features the original Victorian fireplace, a restored chandelier, pocket doors, and floor-to-ceiling windows, while the revamped, modern kitchen boasts an island made from one of the original built-in cupboards.

Outside, a Victorian style garden features raised beds and a geometric walkway for drama, and a back porch has motorized, retractable vinyl screens with a bed swing and outdoor kitchen.

The kitchen island was created from an original 1906 built-in cupboard.
In order to fit a king sized bed, the fireplace mantel was moved to the new back porch and the closet door removed and turned into the headboard.
