Even for die-hard urbanites, a cabin in the woods has an undeniable appeal. Whether it’s a stone stunner or a warm, woodsy version, cabins offer a verdant respite from the hustle and bustle of daily lives.

The latest cabin to cross our desk is this modern version in upstate New York. Located about two hours from Manhattan, the three-bedroom, two-bath home is the last dwelling available at Hudson Woods. Developed by Lang Architecture, Hudson Woods is a 26-family community over 131 acres in a forested, hilly area of the Hudson Valley.

The contemporary cabin boasts 2,800 square feet with an open-concept plan. Two bedrooms and a den are situated on the lower level, and walls, ceilings, and flooring are sheathed in white oak sourced from a small, family-owned mill in Pennsylvania. A wood stove comes standard, as does a kitchen island made of blackened steel and walnut. Other available add-ons include a pool house, guest house, greenhouse, and our favorite—a treehouse.

Look like the perfect retreat for you? The last Hudson Woods cabin is listed now for $1,180,000.
