A renewed interest in midcentury style dominated the design trends of the last decade, and a love for all things 1950s and 1960s also impacted real estate. Thanks to their midcentury credentials and style, formerly “affordable” spec homes can now cost buyers millions, especially in high-priced states like California.

But there are still some cities in the U.S. where you can score a cute midcentury home for under $300,000. Take this three-bedroom, two-bath ranch built in 1957 in Houston, Texas. It’s located in the Glenbrook Valley Historic District, a planned community with the city’s largest and most intact neighborhood of ranch and midcentury modern homes.

The 1,844-square-foot house sits on a large lot and its current owners have worked hard to maintain the home’s authenticity. You enter the home through a light pink entryway before walking into an open living space. The vaulted living room features a corner fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto the patio. The original kitchen boasts a vintage cooktop, loads of cabinet space, and easy access to the dining room with bay window.

Both bathrooms are also original—one with a light pink tile—and we love the peacock green accent walls in the master bedroom. Throw in the hardwood floors, two car garage, and corner lot, and you’ve got a midcentury gem that’s ready for new owners.
