Miami may be known for glitz and over-the-top beach homes, but another Florida enclave is packed with glamorous architecture: Sarasota. Located on the southwestern coast of Florida, Sarasota is a booming arts and cultural capitol, known for the Sarasota School of Architecture that flourished in the post-war era.

The latest Sarasota gem to catch our eye is this three-bedroom, three-bath home in Sandy Hook, a private beachfront neighborhood on the island of Siesta Key. Siesta Key is packed with gorgeous midcentury architecture by Paul Rudolph, Victor Lundy, and Frank Folsom Smith, but this 2,550-square-foot home was designed by Siebert Architects—Sarasota’s oldest architecture firm.

The 1962 home has all the midcentury details we love, like long horizontal lines, glass walls, clerestory windows, and terrazzo floors. A covered interior courtyard features a pond, skylights, and a large dining table for entertaining, and exposed beams throughout the house contrast with the bright, airy windows.

A careful restoration by Seibert Architects, Ball Construction, Seth Schulaner Interior Design, and Robert Anderson Landscape Architects updated the bathrooms and kitchen with 1960s style in mind, and the home still shines. Interested? 37 Sandy Hook Road is on the market for $1,695,000.
