Midcentury modern homes come in all shapes and sizes, and the latest to cross our desk is this four-bedroom, three-bath home in Raleigh, North Carolina. The home was built in 1963 and designed by Byron Franklin, an MIT-trained architect who designed several residences in the Triangle area.

The centerpiece of the home is a large brick fireplace with a pass-through firebox. Opposite the fireplace are bands of floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light. Renovations in 2002 updated the galley kitchen, opening up the roof with apertures and automatic window openers, while adding concrete countertops, a Lacanche gas range, and a custom stainless steel commercial style sink.

Renovations also discarded the wall-to-wall carpet, revealing wood floors and preserving original teal tile floors in both upstairs bathrooms. The bathrooms are impressive in their authenticity—the all-teal master bathroom has back-to-back vanities with medicine cabinet doors that open and pass through. The second bathroom boasts two canary yellow sinks, a built-in mirrored medicine cabinet wall, and a separate tub room. Love what you see? 1113 Glen Eden Drive is on the market now for $700,000.
