Welcome to Curbed’s Advent-calendar gift guide. Over the course of the next 25 days, we will be doling out, one by one, the gifts recommended by dozens of design bigwigs with extremely good taste. So keep checking in daily for new drops.

Printmaker Karen J. Revis discovered Baughaus three years ago at the Black Artists + Designers Guild opening. “I was immediately drawn to the craftsmanship of their designs,” she says of the Jamaican firm, which makes ceramic vessels, tableware, and even ornaments made to look like ackee, breadfruit, and cacao beans. She was especially smitten with this bowl, which is decorated with hand-molded porcelain flowers, some of which are painted with 18-karat gold luster. “I just felt this piece was special. I wouldn’t even put anything in it because of the intricate details,” she says. “It’s a standalone.”

The bowls are part of a limited series personally made by Baughaus Design Studio’s founder, Dana Baugh. Revis says that while she intends to buy this as a gift, she can also imagine just keeping it for herself. “Odds are, it’ll end up staying with me,” she says. “It would look really great at eye level on my bookshelves, where I keep all my special, tiny treasures.”
