Tora Holmes (pictured above)
Chef, Cliffwood, New Jersey
How did you land on the outfit?
My partner and I usually choose a theme. I’ve been into hats lately, so I told her, “I’m gonna start with a bowler hat — we’ll go from there.” It worked.
And you’re a chef as well?
Yes. Over the summer I fed the Seattle Mariners for their entire baseball season. And last year was the first time they made it to the playoffs in 21 years. Coincidence? I don’t know.

Senior finance analyst, Harlem
Jérémie Dominique
Professional football player, Harlem
Who brought you here?
My publicist. He took me and another one of his athlete clients, Serge Ibaka. We legitimately ordered the whole menu. Like six of the chopped cheese with the truffle. Now we’re headed to this private party Drake’s throwing.
Lisa Menda
Statistician, Upper East Side
Olivia Cherry
Commercial-real-estate agent, Williamsburg
Who are you here with?
My boyfriend, who told me the wrong time for the reservation by 30 minutes because I’m always late. People are always doing that to me.
Kendra Clarke

Hair-salon owner, Georgetown
Dayna Puryear
Business consultant, East Orange, New Jersey
Amy Racine

Carolyn Blair

How’s the atmosphere here?
I feel so at home. It was a hard day, but I’ve got my strawberry margarita, Rick Ross pumping at just the right level, and the woman at the bar next to me has a mini-Afro and an African jacket, so we’re vibing on natural hair. I did not expect this for Lincoln Center.

Stephanie Umeh
Nurse practitioner, Upper East Side
Kourtney Chandler

Hans Austin
Engineer and songwriter, West Harlem
Tracey Ford

What are your first thoughts?
That Lincoln Center is a very stush, bougie area, and I think if you took down the walls of this restaurant, some people around here would clutch their pearls.
