The Farrelly brothers used Providence's Big Blue Bug to establish a little scene-setting for their home state of Rhode Island. This landmark overlooks the I-95 and is almost 1000 times bigger than a normal termite.

In a classic production twist, Mary Swanson's "New England" mansion is actually nowhere near the East Coast. Instead, the 20-acre estate built in 1975 is actually located in Sandy, Utah near the Little Cottonwood Canyon.

Harry and Lloyd take a bath together at the Bear Mountain Chalet in Utah. Nice bathtub.

Harry and Lloyd finally make it to "Aspen." Except it's not Aspen. Dumb & Dumber actually filmed the scene on Main Street, Breckenridge, which sits at a higher altitude than Aspen and was therefore more likely to be covered in snow in late spring.

Lloyd and Harry ride their scooter through "Aspen." In fact, the scene was filmed in both Park City and Breckenridge.

Flush with money from their suitcase, Lloyd and Harry stay at the ultra-luxe "Danbury Hotel". In reality, the scenes were filmed at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado.

While Lloyd is waiting in the bar for Mary, Harry is skiing with her at Copper Mountain Resort. And then he gets his tongue stuck on the chairlift, because it's Dumb & Dumber.

Lloyd and Harry get all fancied up to attend the Snowy Owl Benefit in Aspen. In fact, the scenes were filmed in Salt Lake City in a music venue now called the Depot.

Both the Aspen "chalet" in Dumb & Dumber and the home of villain Nicholas Andre (played by Charles Rocket) were actually filmed in Deer Valley, Utah.
