This incredibly preserved midcentury modern home in Bloomington, Indiana, is on the market for the first time since it was completed in 1960. Designed by architect Jasper Ward from a plan that came out of an issue of Ladies’ Home Journal from the ’50s, the 2,418-square-foot residence boasts soaring spaces and a wealth of original details that still feel fresh today.

A wall of glass forms the entry to the post-and-beam house, where a bi-level foyer with a short staircase leading downstairs to the main floor, and another one leading to the bedrooms by way of a mezzanine, gives way to the double-height space of the dining room, also framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the woods.

Flanking the dining room are a family room with a stone fireplace, glass sliders, and original sliding cork doors on one side, and a period eat-in kitchen with Formica counters and a Sub-Zero fridge from the ’70s, also opening out onto the outdoors, plus a powder room.

Upstairs, the aforementioned gallery walkway connects the two wings, where four bedrooms (including a master suite with flex library or study) with sloped ceilings and huge windows, plus two full bathrooms are located. Original cork flooring, California redwood, Brown County stone, original acoustical ceilings, and more are found throughout.

Located on 0.8 woodsy acres in Hoosier Acres, the property comes with covered parking for two cars, a creek, and a bridge. Located at 604 S. Meadowbrook Drive, it’s offered at $350,000.
